| Background | Dr Christopher Sim is a Specialist Prosthodontist at Mount Elizabeth Dental Surgery. He completed his training from National University of Singapore and his specialty training from the Institute of Dental Surgery, University College London. He is a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine and a Fellow of College of Dental Surgeons, Singapore. He is also the founding member of the Prosthodontics Society Singapore. Dr Sim was a member of the Ministry of Health, Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPG) Committee for Dental Implants. The committee was given the task of maintaining the clinical standards for the treatment of Edentulism with Dental Implants in Singapore. Dr Sim has been involved in Implant Dentistry since 1991. His mentor in Dental Implantology was Prof. Dr. George H Nentwig, who is the Head of Department of Oral Surgery and Oral Implantology, University of Frankfurt, Germany. In 2003 Dr Sim was awarded Cert in Oral Implantology (with Distinction) from the University of Frankfurt, Germany. Dr Sim is a well known international speaker and has lectured extensively on aesthetics and dental implants in the following countries: Sydney (Australia), Barcelona (Spain), Krakow (Poland), Tokyo (Japan), Yokohama (Japan), Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam), Shenzhen (China), Shanghai (China), Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), Hong Kong SAR, Jakarta (Indonesia) and Singapore. Dr Sim has been actively involved in the Continuing Dental Education (CDE) for dentists in the new and exciting field of Implant Dentistry. He was a former University of Frankfurt teaching faculty staff for the Cert in Oral Implantology program in Singapore. As an AIC Course Director (Advanced Implant Centre, Korea), he has conducted numerous implant training programs for dentists since 2007. Recently Dr Sim was invited by New York University College Dentistry (NYUCD), Linhart Continuing Dental Education Program, to lecture on dental implant surgery at the prestigious Tokyo Medical Dental University in Japan. |
