Background

Dr Ian Tsou entered private practice with Radiologic Clinic in July 2006. He was previously Consultant in DiagnosticRadiology in Tan Tock Seng Hospital, Singapore, and Clinical Lecturer in Radiology at the National University of Singapore. Dr Tsou completed his undergraduate medical training in the National University of Singapore in 1991, and obtained the Fellowship of the Royal College of Radiologists, UK in 2000 and Masters’ in Medical Imaging (Musculoskeletal Imaging) from the University of Sydney, Australia in 2004.

His area of interest is in musculoskeletal imaging and intervention, and did his subspecialty training at the Hospital for Special Surgery, Weill Medical College of Cornell University, New York, USA in 2003. This has allowed him to fully naging complex orthopaedic and rheumatologic cases involving the joints and extremities. He is also an early adopter of imaging-guided interventional procedures in the spine, such as percutaneous vertebroplasty and cervical and lumbar nucleoplasty.

His other area of interest is in radiology training and education, and continues to be involved in the Singapore MMed (Diagnostic Radiology) training programme and examinations under the auspices of the National University of Singapore. He is the module leader for Musculoskeletal Radiology for the Year 2 (FRCR 2A) national Singapore Residency Training Programme. He has published several book chapters and many journal articles. He has organised scientific conferences as well as conducted ultrasound and MRI interpretation workshops. He was also Deputy Director of Clinical Research in Tan Tock Seng Hospital.

Dr Tsou is also Honorary Consultant to the Singapore Sports Council and Visiting Consultant to Tan Tock Seng Hospital. He is also currently the Treasurer in the Council of the College of Radiologists, Singapore, and prior to this, was the Vice-Chairman of the Chapter of Diagnostic Radiologists, College of Radiologists, Singapore. He is also a member of the Medical Committee in the Football Association of Singapore.
