Background

Dr. Teoh graduated from the National University of Singapore with the degrees of the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, under auspices of being awarded a Singapore Government Public Services Commission Merit Scholarship. He then went on to train in General Surgery and was awarded a Singapore Government Fellowship leading to a Masters of Medicine in Surgery. He obtained both the Masters of Medicine (Surgery) and Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. After completion of his advanced training in General Surgery, Dr. Teoh was enrolled on the Roll of Specialists (General Surgery) and is a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine of Singapore.

Besides being a trained General Surgeon, his subspecialty training is in Colorectal Surgery. Dr Teoh was awarded a Singapore Government Health Manpower Development Plan Scholarship for Colorectal Surgery at the world-renowned Cleveland Clinic, Florida (USA).

He was also a Founding Member of the Endoscopic and Laparoscopic Surgeons of Asia and also a Founding Member of the Society of Colorectal Surgeons (Singapore).

Dr Teoh was a member of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons (ASCRS) and served as a council member of the Technologies Committee of the ASCRS.

His experience in Colorectal Surgery involves, especially, the surgery Colon and Rectal Cancer, including anal sphincter-preserving surgery for low rectal cancers.

He has a wide field of practice which includes surgery for Gastrointestinal Cancers, especially colon and rectal cancers.

He also manages the full range of proctology including treatment of the full range of anal conditions including fistulae, fissures and haemorrhoids including Stapled Hamorrhoidectomy.

He also performs laparoscopic procedures including Cholecystectomy (Gallstones), Appendicectomy, Colectomy, Endoscopy (Gastroscopy and Colonoscopy).
