Background

Dr Eugene Ong joined Radiology Consultants Pte Ltd in 2012. He graduated from United Medical and Dental Schools of Guy’s and St Thomas’s Hospitals in London in 1997. He subsequently became a member of the Royal College of Physicians (UK), a Fellow of the Royal College of Radiologists (UK) and a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine in Singapore.

He obtained an HMDP award to train as a Fellow in breast and women’s imaging at Brigham & Women’s hospital and Harvard Medical School in Boston Massachusetts (2008) and has special interests in breast MRI and MR-guided breast intervention. He has also been giving lectures on breast and women’s imaging at local and international conferences and published papers on these topics. He was awarded the Cum Laude award at RSNA 2009 for co-authoring an educational exhibit on breast MRI and was given a merit award in 2012 for his services as a reviewer for the Singapore Medical Journal.

He was formally the consultant-in-charge of the breast imaging centre at the Department of Diagnostic Imaging at the National University Hospital in Singapore. He was also Assistant Professor and Director of Undergraduate Education in Diagnostic Radiology at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine.
