Dr Michelle Kam is a Senior Consultant pulmonologist at O2 Lung Centre and a visiting consultant at Singapore General Hospital (SGH). She currently serves as the Asian Pacific Society of Respirology (APSR) Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD) Assembly Deputy Head.

Dr Kam specializes in respiratory medicine and treats conditions including asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), bronchiectasis and chronic cough. She also performs procedures including bronchoscopy and endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS). Her clinical interests are in ILD and rare lung diseases. She completed a subspecialty fellowship in ILD and orphan lung diseases, at National Jewish Health, a leading respiratory center in the USA, with one of the largest and most established ILD programs in the nation. During her fellowship, she also received training in sarcoidosis and granulomatous lung disease, orphan and cystic lung disease (e.g. lymphangioleiomyomatosis (LAM), Birt-Hogg Dube Syndrome, pulmonary Langerhans cell histiocytosis), childhood ILD and pulmonary genetics.

Prior to private practice, Dr Kam was associate director of the HHT treatment centre at SGH and established a cystic lung disease clinic. She was part of a multidisciplinary workgroup for immunotherapy-related toxicities at National Cancer Centre Singapore (NCCS) and was involved in combined Respiratory and Rheumatology clinics at SGH.

Dr Kam has received various awards, including the Class of 1975 Book Prize, Singhealth Best House Officer Award and Service with a Heart Award. More recently, she received the inaugural Singapore Thoracic Society Young Investigator’s Award in 2022, as well as the 2025 ATS-APSR Travel Award. She is well-published in international peer-reviewed journals and has been an invited speaker and faculty member at local, regional and international conferences.
