Info

Dr Sabrina Ngaserin is a senior consultant breast surgeon, and medical director of Breast Surgery Care Partners. Her subspecialty expertise is in oncoplastic and minimally invasive breast surgery, advanced breast surgery techniques that eradicate disease while remaining sensitive to our patients’ desires for aesthetic surgical solutions. She is one of the few surgeons in Singapore and the world, formally trained in oncoplastic breast surgery and minimally invasive breast surgery.

Prior to private practice, Dr Ngaserin was former Head of Breast Surgery and Senior Consultant at Sengkang General Hospital, SingHealth Duke-NUNS Breast Centre, and Honorary Visiting Senior Consultant at the National University Hospital of Singapore. She was also Chief of Breast Service of the SingHealth Duke-NUS Breast Centre. She was an active member of the Executive Committee member of the SingHealth Duke-NUS Breast Centre and Sengkang General Hospital Medical Board, responsible for service and systems development, involved in multiple committees that worked alongside various healthcare organisations, the Ministry of Health, and collaborations with international associations. She continues to serve in the public sector as a Visiting Senior Consultant at the National University Hospital and SingHealth Duke-NUS Breast Centre.

Dr Ngaserin graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS) Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and completed her general surgery residency and initial breast specialist training at the National University Hospital (NUH) of Singapore. She obtained her Masters of Medicine (Surgery) from the National University of Singapore, is fellowship accredited by the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (General Surgery) and a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine of Singapore. She is Specialist Accreditation and Specialist Registration Certified by the Ministry of Health of Singapore and Singapore Medical Council.

She honed her subspeciality surgical skills in various institutions around the world, including an Advanced Oncoplastic Breast Surgery Fellowship with the Fiona Stanley and Fremantle Hospital Group, Australia, supported by Health Manpower Development Plan (HMDP) scholarship awarded by the Ministry of Health Singapore; a Breast Surgery International Visiting Scholars programme with Asan Medical Center in South Korea; Surgical observerships with Seoul National University Hospital, South Korea; Samsung Medical Center in South Korea; Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in Taiwan; and The Queen Sirikit Centre for Breast Cancer of King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital in Thailand. She was accredited as a breast specialist of the Health Promotion Board supported national screening programme ‘BreastScreen Singapore’.

Dr Sabrina strongly believes in education and mentorship for future generations of doctors and surgeons. She was the Founding Programme Director of the Advanced Breast Surgery Fellowship Programme (Oncoplastic and Minimally Invasive Breast Surgery) at her prior institution, and remains an active live surgical operator, with a special interest in minimally invasive breast surgical demonstration and training. She spearheaded the development of minimally invasive breast surgery (MIBS) in Singapore, was founding director of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Minimally Invasive Breast Surgery Symposium (MIBSS) Singapore, which also involved live surgical demonstrations and cadaveric workshops, authored textbook chapters in MIBS, and represented SingHealth in overseas collaboration as steering committee for the clinical pillar of Robotic Surgery.

Her academic positions included Assistant Professor of Duke-NUS Post-graduate Medical School; Assistant Professor of Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore; She was former Clinical Block Lead (2019 to 2023) and Clinical Teacher at Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine Singapore; Physician Faculty with SingHealth’s Postgraduate Year 1 Program; Physician Faculty with SingHealth’s General Surgery Residency Program; and Examiner with the three medical schools in Singapore. Dr Ngaserin is also actively involved in breast and general surgery research. She has published extensively in scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals, and is a reviewer for a number of major scientific journals in breast surgery, minimally invasive surgery, and surgical innovations. She is a regular local, regional and international speaker. As participant, panellist, invited faculty, or organising committee member, she presents her surgical and scientific work regularly in conferences and meetings around the world. She is also the Singapore country representative of the digital strategy communications team of the EUBREAST Network of the European Breast Cancer Research Association.

Dr Ngaserin is passionate about cutting edge breast cancer surgical techniques that considers her patients’ oncological safety alongside their need for aesthetic, quality of life and function preserving solutions. She is particularly passionate about minimally invasive breast surgery, tailoring small ‘off-the-breast’ and ‘minimal-access’ incisions to provide the illusion of ‘nearly-scarless’ breast resections. She believes in meticulous diagnostic and therapeutic discussions, followed by the creation and tailoring of a personalised oncoplastic approach involving multidisciplinary services, to guide each patient and their loved ones through their treatment journey and survivorship.

Dr Sabrina treats each patient with love, finds great fulfilment from being an integral part of their journey towards better health, and feels privileged to be entrusted with the responsibility to safeguard their lives.

Special Treatments

Breast Cancer Risk Evaluation and Screening
Our breast cancer risk evaluation and screening programmes offer precision evaluation by senior breast specialists with the aim of optimising assessment strategies, detecting and addressing disease early.

Comprehensive Breast Care Services
We offer tailored care for all breast conditions, from benign breast disease to high-risk lesions and cancer, precise diagnostic evaluation and specialised therapeutic procedures.

Minimally Invasive Breast Biopsy and Excision and Advanced Localisation Techniques
We personalise minimally invasive breast biopsy and excision strategies to treat breast conditions with minimal incisions and maximum tissue preservation. Modern wire-free localisation techniques are offered as a surgical adjunct when required.

Minimally Invasive Breast Surgery
We specialise in minimally invasive breast surgery (MIBS), offering precise and less intrusive procedures that prioritise scar minimisation, reduced discomfort, decreased surgical risks, and expedient recovery. MIBS can be performed with sensory preservation strategies and allows close-to-ideal breast restoration with the full spectrum of breast reconstruction methods.

Oncoplastic Breast Surgery
Our oncoplastic breast surgery techniques integrate cancer removal with advanced mammoplasty options and partial or whole breast reconstruction methods in order to preserve aesthetics and quality of life. We also offer deformity correction for patients who may benefit from post-treatment rejuvenation. All approaches are carefully tailored to address our patient’s medical, aesthetic and personal needs.

Video Consultation
We provide video consultations for appropriate follow-up care scenarios and overseas patients outside of Singapore. A secure online video conferencing platform allows a medical consultation to be conducted in real-time at your convenient location of choice. Connect with our care team to understand if a virtual meeting is appropriate for you.
