Dr Tang Hak Chiaw is a cardiologist at Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital, Singapore.

His expertise is in echocardiography and cardiac MRI. He also treats cardiomyopathies including hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, dilated cardiomyopathy and restrictive cardiomyopathy.

He was a former cardiologist at the National Heart Centre Singapore (NHCS) and has been practising medicine for more than 20 years.

He graduated from the Universiti Malaya, Malaysia. He then did his cardiology training at NHCS. He subsequently furthered his training in the field of cardiomyopathy (heart muscle disease) and cardiac MRI at The Heart Hospital, University College London Hospitals, UK.

After returning from his training, Dr Tang started a dedicated cardiomyopathy clinic at NHCS. This clinic is currently a tertiary referral centre for cardiomyopathies in Singapore.

He was the course director of Singapore’s first cardiomyopathy conference in 2021 and a clinical assistant professor at NHCS. He was also a member of the Singapore Armed Forces’ cardiology specialist advisory board.
